The Next Big Thing Blog Hop!
I’m excited to announce that we’ve been invited to our first NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP for December 19, 2012.
If you are new to Blog Hops like I was, the purpose is to introduce readers to new authors and their books (The Next Big Thing). It sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to discover what other authors are doing.
The way it works is an author tags you and then you tag four other authors for the following week. When you are tagged, you answer 10 questions (see below) and provide a link to your book. You also give a link to the person who tagged you.
My online buddy, Kristopher Lane, author of Abundance Is For You Too: Experience an Abundant Life in 5 Simple Steps tagged me. LOL

At the end of this post I’ve listed four new authors for the upcoming Blog Hop next week. Take a few minutes to visit each of their blogs and see what they are currently writing about.
1. What is the working title of your book?
My book is Reno for Three. Of the five books in the series, coming up with this title was the hardest, just because there were a number of options but no obvious front runner. And, I have a reputation among my friends for being the Queen of Lame Titles. <sigh>
2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
I had been working on the other books in the series and got intrigued about the research that can go into interesting fiction. I thought about an author who writes thrillers and becomes something of an Armchair Expert. Taking it to the next level — asking every fiction author’s favorite question: What If… she took her mad research skills and went in search of her family’s murderer.
3. What genre does your book fall under?
This falls under the Romantic Erotica label, because the love story is polyandry menage — Merry, the heroine with Ben and Jamie. In polyandry, there is no sexual interaction between members of the same sex. The shorthand designation is M/F/M.
In terms of the story, I place it under Romantic Suspense.
4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Hmmmm, that’s a tough question… I think probably any of the current young hunks could play Jamie and Ben, but Merry… possibly Emma Stone?
5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
After Merry’s grandmother dies, she gets a letter from the grave… and it changes her life.
6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I am self-publishing, starting with Amazon and then moving on to the other online options. It’s so good to be a writer in 2013!
7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I write pretty fast, mainly because I outline every thing in advance, then I *just tell the story*. I did skip around, starting with Reno, then writing Diner, then writing the three shorter stories and then back to Reno. I wrote the first 5 books int he Town of Trio from about middle of June to the middle of November, but I lost at least 6 weeks when my Mom had to undergo a series of hospitalizations.
She sundowns badly so I stay with her through the night and then I go home to sleep during the day. I didn’t get any writing done, but I did print out the manuscripts and read them out loud to her during the nights. She likes to have a human voice to focus on, and no, I didn’t read the love scenes to her! LOL
On the upside, the nurses got interested in my writing and thanks to 50 Shades of Gray, they understood what I meant by the term Romantic Erotica, so all I had to do was explain that my stories didn’t have BDSM, they were menage.
8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
One of my favorite authors is Sophie Oak, who writes a menage series placed in Bliss Colorado. I didn’t find her menage books until I had finished these Town of Trio stories but there are a lot of similarities in what I am doing and how she is writing her series… I also LOVE her Petal Georgia series of Romance with Suspense.
9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
I am fascinated by the personalities of the partners involved in Menage Romance, which is my personal favorite sub-niche in Romantic Erotica.
10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
I really enjoyed writing Merry’s character, having her apply her research and skills to *real* life.
